Classy and Stylish: How to be elegant?
There is nothing you can do about the fact that people will judge you by the way you look, so use it to your advantage. You don't have to drain your bank account to look refined, you just have to be wise with your choices.
The first impression you give more often than not helps people decide what you are. If you don't create a confident impression, people may not take an extra effort to get to know you, and they won't be able to know whether you have a heart of gold or not.
Wondering when it's worth saving and when it's worth investing? Successful shopping is all about carefully selecting quality key pieces for a killer curated wardrobe. "Like your money where you can see it hanging in your closet" -Carrie Bradshaw
Here, I break down 7 wardrobe resolutions to undertake now so that you can make space, save money and look the best you have.
- Choose quality over quantity
Spending on good quality, crafted investment pieces could save your money and time. Luxury clothing usually has better fabric, better cuts, and better style.
It's better to buy one thing you love and long-lasting than six cheap things you don't. There's a difference between cost and value.
- Classic fabric
Classic, timeless clothing made of materials that will last well into the next decade is what you should be looking to add to your essential wardrobe. Cotton/ Cashmere/ Linen/ Silk. These fabrics will stand the test of time if cared for properly.
- A good tailor
- Never overexpose
Dressing classy requires a bit of modesty- No bandage dress, midriff-baring tops, revealing low décolletage, hotpants or mini skirts.
- Less is more
A statement piece of jewellery like a great bangle or necklace is something you can wear every day to add a polished touch. Elegant and stylish fashion accessories for women are core in classic and business wardrobe styling.
Belt- can be statement pieces and can be worn over shirts, blazers, poncho and dresses.
Bandanna- can create multiple looks with outfits. Don't limit yourself to putting them around the neck, use them in bags or waist.
Sunglasses- are not just merely eyewear. No woman looks as cool as when she's wearing a pair of sharp sunglasses. The classic black and tortoiseshell is a must-have item. I love oversized sunglasses, I always wear my Bvlgari square sunglasses, it just fit my face perfectly.
Bag- Classic wardrobes are built around high-quality, long-lasting, practical items of clothing, footwear and accessories. This is why if you want to create a sophisticated ensemble, your first step is to buy a handbag made of leather. Traditionally, black, brown and beige handbags suit most neutral colour wardrobes. "The more intense the colour, the less of it should be used."
Whatever handbag you choose, make sure it blends with your personality, gives you required comfort are fits the purpose.
I like high-quality leather goods. Take my calfskin tote bag from Salvatore Ferragamo, it just simple and classic. And they also tested the strength of straps strap fastenings as well, which I can put my laptop, files and magazine inside. And I love my heritage leather-trimmed denim backpack from Mulberry. I always carry it when I travel.
For other leather accessories, I love my custom iPhone case from Lucrin Geneva and my cardholder from Mulberry.
Shoes- a pair of good shoes take you to good places. Shoes are very important in the world of fashion. Without shoes, the style looks unfinished. Good Shoes bring a more stylish and awesome look. As long as you have good shoes on your feet, You can simply wear jeans and a top. Trust me, You would still look fashionable. Shoes bring out the best in you. I'm not a fan of high-heels, I'm more like a loafers girl. Here's are my favourite shoe brands:
Salvatore Ferragamo
Pretty Ballerina
R.Sanderson
Nicholas Kirkwood
- Have a signature scent that expresses your feminine essence
Le Labo-Thé Noir 29
Coco Mademoiselle
Tom Ford-Noir De Noir
Hermès-Twilly D'Hermès
- Style your hair
Most women have got dull, dry and damaged hair.
Your blow-drying technique matters. Get a great oil and apply to mid-lengths and ends before blow-drying / curling your hair.
Hair oil serum:
If you're lack of time in the morning, you could try a low knot bun/ chignon bun/ ponytail. It may not technically be an accessory, but when it comes to creating an outfit, hair can certainly act like it is. Whether worn up, down, straight or curly, your locks can dramatically change your look. My signature hairstyle is a green-brown mid-length cut with a little curled inwards.
