Comment être chic comme une Parisienne?

Parisian style is not a difficult style to pull off. Indeed, it's something effortless, classic, nonchalant, chic but not arrogant. The aim is to find the right balance between looking dressed up and laid-back. It's not being obsessed about wearing bold shades and extravagant items or expensive pieces.

French women have been a fashion reference for many years, representing elegance and grace. If you simply want to understand what the French style is about, then this post is for you.
I was growing up in London, but I used to visit my aunt twice a year for holidays in Paris. She lives in Rue des Martyrs, Paris 18 éme. She used to make chicken fricassee and crêpe for me. Since a very young age, I've always had this huge love for France.
French girl style is chic, subtly sexy, natural and yet casually elegant. The real Parisian fashion is not about following trends, quite the contrary. Speaking of fashion, quality above quantity. Nothing was vulgar than those plastic bags, platform sneakers and fanny packs.
French wardrobe essentials should be made of high-quality materials that will last for a very long time.
Le style Parisien so French, au fond, me plaît beaucoup! Parce qu'il se prête particulièrement bien à une garde-robe intemporelle constituée de bon basiques.

Shop Timeless High-quality pieces
The Parisian woman usually shops less but better. Parisian girls emphasize the quality of clothing over quantity. In order to curate a French capsule wardrobe, prefer high-quality fabrics ( cotton, silk, wool, cashmere) that will last for a long time. Invest in versatile pieces that you can re-wear and re-style often, and don't follow too much all the new trends. Instead, prefer timeless pieces that all work together, and which are comfortable to wear every day.

Shop Minimalists Basics
Simplicity is key to the Parisian style. Parisian women are never overdone or overdress. Parisian style is all about effortless basic clothes with one statement piece, like a scarf, a great pair of shoes. Accessorisation of outfits is kept to a minimum. The Parisian likes discreet looks, including the jewellery made in France. Cartier, tank watch and bracelet are all timeless pieces that I can easily wear every day.

Stick with Neutral Tones
If you want to dress like a Parisian girl, you'll need to stick with neutral tones such as khaki, beige, white, camel, navy blue, grey, black.
Remember that French outfits do not exceed three colours in total. For instance, you can wear a white shirt with a light blue pair of jeans and a black blazer. For a very chic, stylish night out, wear only one or two colours maximum.

Avoid Logos on Clothing
Parisian style is all about discretion, and especially when it comes to expensive pieces. In French culture, it's not tasteful to show off its wealth. It's not tasteful to wear clothes with the brand name shown too distinctly as well. French girls do not want to look rich but instead, they want to look chic.

Always Choose Style and Comfort
One of the stereotypes about Parisian girls is they wear high heels all day. Well, they don't. Parisian girls prefer flat shoes ( like ballerinas, loafers or sneakers) or low block heels.
The essential shoes for the Parisian in summer time? Espadrilles of course!!! Particularly the wedge models which divinely lengthen the leg.
