Find Your Happiness

Norway has displaced three-time winner Denmark to take the title of ‘World’s Happiest Country’ according to a United Nations agency report. Norway ranked highly on the main factors found to contribute to happiness: Caring, Liberty, Generosity, Loyalty, Health, Income and Good governance. But how can you be happy if you hail from a war-torn and corrupt country? What’s the definition of Happiness? Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being which can be defined by, among others, positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. That's all we know about that. Happiness is many things. Everyone is different.  Happiness isn’t just about money, although it’s part of it. Most of the people couldn’t deal with their emotions directly and they try to deal with anxiety by putting on a brave face. But that can lead to sleeping problems, immune system, and depression. Actually, simple is happiness, such as simple is beauty. Remember don't pursue happiness. Recognise what makes you happy and peaceful, for instance, hiking through the countryside, travelling, cooking or hanging out with friends. Take care of yourself, be a little more active each day, have a healthier lifestyle. Don’t compare! When you measure yourself against those around you, you’ll be drawn to swell on your own flaws. ‘The less you compare, the happier you will be’ like my grandma said ‘Everything is better when you decide you don’t care’ Look at what you’re good at, particularly what you lose yourself in. Whether it’s yoga, surfing, cooking or dancing. Try to smile in the mirror every day. Just a smile, not burst out laughing. You’ll start to see a different in your life.
