Welcome to the world of Old Money style

The Old Money Style- also known as ‘Quiet Luxury’- conveys heritage, long-standing social status, and a commitment to timeless quality over fleeting fashion trends.

The old money aesthetic is characterised by a preference for classic, timeless styles in clothing, decor, and architecture. It values quality over quantity and avoids ostentatious displays of wealth. The aesthetic is often associated with conservative, traditional values and a focus on the preservation of cultural heritage.

In terms of lifestyle, the old money aesthetic emphasises a certain degree of formality and restraint in social interactions, as well as a commitment to intellectual pursuits and education. It may involve a preference for leisure activities such as reading, art, and travel rather than flashy displays of extravagance like luxury sports cars and flashy dresses.

“Old money” styling in the modern day refers to a classic and timeless approach to fashion (and interior design!) that reflects the elegance and sophistication associated with wealthy, established families and traditions. It’s a style that evokes a sense of refinement and subtlety, often characterised by its simplicity, quality and timelessness.

Old money style often involves a wardrobe filled with well-tailored, high-end and high-quality clothing. This includes items like tailored suits, structured dresses, cashmeresweaters, pearl necklaces and understated luxury brands. Invest in well-made pieces that will last for years to come. Look for high-end fabrics like cashmere, silk, and wool, high-quality leather shoes and structured handbags.with a preference for enduring pieces that never go out of style.

Neutral and muted colours are favoured in old money styling. Think navy blues, beige, grey, white and tan. The idea is to create a timeless and elegant look that doesn’t rely on flashy or bold colours.

Accessorise with subtle, understated pieces. Choose simple, elegant jewellery like pearls, diamond studs, and gold bangles. Avoid loud or flashy accessories.

My inspiration comes from my grandmother.

She likes wear cashmere cardigan and black trousers with loafers.

For jewellery and accessories, she wore crystal jade, pearl and gold.

She always carried her Celine small 16 bag in calfskin black.
